As secretary of Barry citizens’ Action Group, I feel privileged to have led the long campaign to upgrade and retain Central Park, Barry Town Hall and King Square for community purposes. It would be difficult to estimate the number of people who have reaped benefit as the result of the Action Group’s determination to save Barry’s Heritage.
Dilys as secretary of the Barry Citizens Action Group, was at the forefront of a 21-year campaign to keep Central park as a vital ‘green lung’ in the town centre, and to preserve the former town hall and library on King Square for community use.
The group published a book about the struggle called ‘The Lion’s Share’.
Between The Lines is a dynamic art project in which each subject nominates the next subject based on the principles and ideals of the project.
